WOOO DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B-
ValueB-

FutureB-
The Patriots robbed the room for Carter. Final grade: B-. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Barrett Carter, the 106th overall pick, roughly 27 picks past where he belonged.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Johnson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kaleb Johnson
They liked Kaleb Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick69
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
A straight-up fair deal on Elic Ayomanor at pick 69, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick77
Rnd3
Josaiah Stewart
Josaiah Stewart at slot 77 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick106
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
They will replay Barrett Carter at No. 106 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
