The Commanders bet the future on Maye. The board says D+. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Roger Rosengarten in the 100th overall pick, a good 35 spots before the room expected him.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
However the rest shakes out, Smith at that price is a win they earned.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
