Somebody in the 152nd pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cardinals sat still while Hollin Pierce, the No. 112 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The veteran additions, Trey Hendrickson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
