Draft Grade — Bills

FutureB-
Jones should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a D. The Bills lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Put together, it is a D.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Jones falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in No. 28 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick60
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Value with a capital V on Keon Coleman in pick No. 60, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick71
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
They read the board right and Payton Wilson was the payoff at the 71st pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in Round 4, Pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick118
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
They took Blake Fisher at par in pick 118, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Good price on Johnny Wilson in the 128th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134
Rnd4
Elijah Jones
A cornerback of that caliber at the 134th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
A slide stopped in No. 144, with Jarrian Jones worth more than the price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick160
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
Nice patience on Luke McCaffrey, who had no business lasting to pick 160. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
