SD DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots

Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Patriots won the night they stopped Schwesinger from sliding. Grade: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Carson Schwesinger tumbling to the Patriots in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Parrish has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 38 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick69
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at the 69th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick77
Rnd3
Alfred Collins
The board had Alfred Collins higher than No. 77, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
Taking TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 104 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jacob Parrish this early at the Round 5 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick217
Rnd7
Carson Schwesinger
They robbed the room for Carson Schwesinger here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick220
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
They talked themselves into Garrett Dellinger at the 220th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick238
Rnd7
Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson in the 238th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
