JDHAYES DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Packers took Tommy Eichenberg at the 91st overall pick, roughly 54 spots before his name belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Landing Jones that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Graham Barton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Graham Barton at the Round 2 slot is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick58
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
A slide stopped in the 58th pick, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88
Rnd3
Max Melton
Max Melton slipping to slot 88 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Tommy Eichenberg
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tommy Eichenberg. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick126
Rnd4
Javon Foster
Good price on Javon Foster in pick No. 126, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick169
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in the 169th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick202
Rnd6
Kendall Milton
No drama and no debate, Kendall Milton went about where he belonged in slot 202. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick219
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
They did well to land Caedan Wallace in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245
Rnd7
Nathan Thomas
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 25: Nathan Thomas for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Sheridan Jones
They barely believed it either: Sheridan Jones still on the board at No. 255. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
