Yep DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Chiefs reached some 128 spots for Keilan Robinson, and value like that does not grow back. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The Ulofoshio steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T'Vondre Sweat. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick91
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at pick 91 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick128
Rnd4
Javon Foster
By-the-book stuff, Javon Foster at slot 128 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylin Simpson at the 161st pick is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick171
Rnd5
Edefuan Ulofoshio
Somehow Edefuan Ulofoshio was still sitting there in pick No. 171, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the 175th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick206
Rnd6
Keilan Robinson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Keilan Robinson in No. 206, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick249
Rnd7
Rondell Bothroyd
A wild overpay on Rondell Bothroyd in pick 249, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
