Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the 49ers would have aced it. Oluwafemi Oladejo at No. 113 is 27 spots clear of where he belonged. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The White III value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick No. 11 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
They jumped the gun on Harold Fannin Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75 Rnd3 Shemar Turner
A reach on Shemar Turner in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jeffrey Bassa
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jeffrey Bassa. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick113 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
This one needs a full-page explanation: Oluwafemi Oladejo in the 113th overall pick, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick138 Rnd4 Bhayshul Tuten
They went early on Bhayshul Tuten in the 138th pick, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick147 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales at the 147th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
By-the-book stuff, Tommi Hill at slot 160 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick227 Rnd7 Ricky White III
Ricky White III slid further than he should have, and No. 227 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249 Rnd7 CJ Dippre
CJ Dippre at the 249th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Pick252 Rnd7 Marcus Yarns
No edge and no loss on Marcus Yarns in pick 252; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
