Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ryan Fitzgerald got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at pick 228. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

The Griffith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
