Somebody in pick No. 147 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Jaylin Noel, the No. 102 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Every board in the league had Burch lower, and that gap is the story. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
