The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 128 spots for Jalin Conyers, and value like that does not grow back. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

That Grant pick is the receipt they will wave around later. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
