Mr Maauto DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B-. The Chiefs went off the board in a big way for Keilan Robinson, 96 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 29th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
A reach on Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 29; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick92
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jarrian Jones in slot 129. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick161
Rnd5
Brennan Jackson
They paid a round early for Brennan Jackson in No. 161, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
Pick171
Rnd5
Isaiah Davis
A reach for Isaiah Davis in pick 171; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick175
Rnd5
Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett at Round 5, Pick 39 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick207
Rnd6
Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse in pick 207 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250
Rnd7
Keilan Robinson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Keilan Robinson this early at slot 250. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
