You can hear the double-takes from here. The Chiefs took Walter Rouse at the 175th overall pick, roughly 106 spots before his name belonged. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Stover pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end, quarterback and other spots still on the board. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Barrett.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
