Draft Grade — Lions
Overall B+

Nobody dealt better than the Lions this weekend: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Lions came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Murphy II left real value on the table behind him.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Byron Murphy II
Byron Murphy II in No. 62 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick73 Rnd3 Rod Moore
A reasonable price with a little left over, Rod Moore in the 73rd overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick93 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at slot 93 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95 Rnd3 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson in pick 95 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
