You could see the war room lean forward. Jake Majors at pick No. 173 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Green pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
