A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B-. The 49ers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on Eli Cox a full 81 spots early.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Bowman Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
