Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Mondon Jr.: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Smael Mondon Jr. tumbling to the Bears in Round 6, Pick 25 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Dellinger has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In the 9th pick they get a disruptive interior force. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jack Sawyer
A tidy bit of business in the 37th overall pick, where Jack Sawyer graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick40
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A clean, defensible pick in slot 40 with a little surplus value in Tyler Booker. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick71
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
Somehow Kaleb Johnson was still sitting there in pick No. 71, and they pounced on premier running back value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick142
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in Round 5, Pick 4 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick200
Rnd6
Smael Mondon Jr.
Circle this one: Smael Mondon Jr. at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick232
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
A reach on Garrett Dellinger in No. 232; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick247
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
You do not let a safety like Jaylen Reed reach pick 247 and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
