The Bengals cashed the board's mistake on Rouse: B.

The Bengals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Walter Rouse fell into pick No. 194. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

It is not that Murphy is a bad player; it is that the Bengals had louder needs to answer first. Hartman has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

In pick 18 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
