Oladapo should have been long gone. The Giants pounced, and earned a D-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Giants would have aced it. Tanner McLachlan at the Round 7 slot is 64 spots clear of where he belonged.
The Oladapo pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.
The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Danielle Hunter leading the way. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
