The Giants bet the future on Penix Jr.. The board says D. Somebody in pick No. 184 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Will Shipley, the No. 107 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
Every board in the league had Wallace lower, and that gap is the story. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Michael Penix Jr. is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
