A franchise passer in Sanders headlines a D+ weekend for the Cowboys. The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Carson Schwesinger, the No. 126 name on the board, sitting there at slot 248 like a gift left on the doorstep.
They will need Wedig to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
