FreddyG DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Giants did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at safety, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Braswell. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 6th pick they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy at slot 39 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick47
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at No. 47 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70
Rnd3
Junior Colson
No drama and no debate, Junior Colson went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 6. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick107
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143
Rnd5
Dylan Laube
Dylan Laube at the 143rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
