The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chiefs and Dixon: B.

Call it larceny. Johnny Dixon sat on the board until No. 232, and the Chiefs did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They will need Gore Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In Round 1, Pick 32 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.

A reasonable price with a little left over, Cam Hart in pick 107. It adds depth where they could use a little.

Nice patience on Brenden Rice, who had no business lasting to No. 108. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Theo Johnson in the 129th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

McKinnley Jackson slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
