kaytee27 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks

Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Higgins: C+. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jay Higgins, the No. 126 name on the board, stolen at pick 237. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
They are betting Kight proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Hit on Malaki Starks and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In slot 21 they get an enforcer at safety. Need was not the driver here.
Pick52
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
They reached a country mile for Donovan Jackson at the 52nd pick, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick85
Rnd3
Chris Paul Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Chris Paul Jr. this early at pick 85. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick136
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at Round 4, Pick 35 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick173
Rnd5
Miles Frazier
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Miles Frazier well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick185
Rnd6
Amari Kight
Amari Kight at No. 185 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick210
Rnd6
Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings at pick No. 210 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in the 237th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
