Givens DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Titans checked most of the boxes and earned a B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Titans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to running back, which was the need that mattered most. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Linton. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Olumuyiwa Fashanu at the 6th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
A tidy little value on JT Tuimoloau in No. 38, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick106
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143
Rnd5
Nehemiah Pritchett
They paid sticker price for Nehemiah Pritchett in pick 143, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick184
Rnd6
Tre Harris
Value with a capital V on Tre Harris in Round 6, Pick 9, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick227
Rnd7
Steve Linton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Steve Linton at the 227th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
