Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Maye in the fold, and a B- for the Commanders.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Hopper left real value on the table behind him. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Green pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In No. 2 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
No drama and no debate, Jordan Morgan went about where he belonged in the 36th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick40 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in the 40th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick67 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in Round 3, Pick 3 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick78 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
A tidy little value on Blake Fisher in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Renardo Green slipping to pick No. 100 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick139 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
A conviction pick on Justin Eboigbe at pick 139 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick152 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at slot 152 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick222 Rnd7 JD Bertrand
A straight-up fair deal on JD Bertrand at the 222nd pick, value and slot in agreement. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
