Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB-

TradesA+
FutureB-
The Packers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. The Myles Cole pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 50 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Bullock pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and tight end still on the board.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In slot 26 they get a building block for the line at fair value.
Pick45
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
A clean, defensible pick in pick 45 with a little surplus value in Javon Bullard. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick51
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T.J. Tampa. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick52
Rnd2
Junior Colson
No drama and no debate, Junior Colson went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 20. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick65
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie at No. 65 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick76
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaylen Wright in the Round 3 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick77
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at pick No. 77 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick88
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback and tight end to take Calen Bullock, a safety that was not the priority.
Pick103
Rnd4
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in slot 103 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick105
Rnd4
Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo in the 105th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick114
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
They jumped the gun on Johnny Wilson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Pick116
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick149
Rnd5
Myles Cole
Myles Cole at pick 149 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
