Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA
Nobody dealt better than the 49ers this weekend: A-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jahdae Barron tumbling to the 49ers in the 57th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Every board in the league had Dellinger lower, and that gap is the story. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. They will answer for taking cornerback early while running back and linebacker went begging.

In the end it comes back to Tyler Warren, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the 31st pick they get a seam-stretching tight end, and a steal at that.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at pick No. 57 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick74 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Darien Porter at cornerback with running back and linebacker open.
Pick100 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
The board fumbled Cameron Williams all the way to the 100th pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick113 Rnd4 Jake Majors
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jake Majors well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick138 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
You do not let an offensive lineman like Anthony Belton reach pick 138 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kurtis Rourke
Kurtis Rourke at No. 147 is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick160 Rnd5 Ryan Fitzgerald
A straight-up fair deal on Ryan Fitzgerald at the 160th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick227 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in Round 7, Pick 11 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick230 Rnd7 Fadil Diggs
They paid sticker price for Fadil Diggs in No. 230, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick249 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
A wild overpay on Garrett Dellinger in the 249th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick252 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tonka Hemingway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
