Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueC

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bills. The Bills did not so much draft Jalyx Hunt as overpay for him, 63 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The King steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick60
Rnd2
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in slot 60 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 66 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaden Hicks a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jalyx Hunt
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jalyx Hunt. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick128
Rnd4
Anthony Gould
They paid up for Anthony Gould at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick134
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo in Round 4, Pick 34 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
A wild overpay on Jordan Jefferson in pick No. 144, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick160
Rnd5
Curtis Jacobs
Value said wait; Curtis Jacobs in No. 160 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kalen King
Taking Kalen King in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick189
Rnd6
Cornelius Johnson
No drama and no debate, Cornelius Johnson went about where he belonged in the 189th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
