A sensible, unshowy class lands the Packers a B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent pick No. 245 on Frank Crum, a name most had 50 spots down the list. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The Magee pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Value said wait; Maason Smith in No. 91 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

A straight-up fair deal on Cole Bishop at Round 3, Pick 34, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

A premium they did not need to pay, Beaux Limmer a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
