Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

Daniels is the Giants' new face under center. Grade: B-. The Connor Colby pick is the one that will follow the Giants into the fall. They took him 117 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. That Mayes pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
Aaron Banks gives the group a proven body among the projects.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick39
Rnd2
Graham Barton
A tidy little value on Graham Barton in Round 2, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick43
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
A straight-up fair deal on Xavier Worthy at pick No. 43, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick47
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at slot 47 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Mekhi Wingo
They took Mekhi Wingo at par in pick 70, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick110
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
A clean, defensible pick in the 110th pick with a little surplus value in Braelon Allen. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick177
Rnd6
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick185
Rnd6
Jacob Cowing
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jacob Cowing at slot 185. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
They liked Roger Rosengarten enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 11. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick209
Rnd6
Matthew Jones
They left a pile of value on the table to take Matthew Jones this early at the 209th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick213
Rnd6
Connor Colby
They reached a country mile for Connor Colby at pick No. 213, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick239
Rnd7
BJ Mayes
They robbed the room for BJ Mayes here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick242
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
Fair-plus on Eric Gentry, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick252
Rnd7
Erick All
Erick All at No. 252 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
