Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA- FutureA
Few false notes in the Giants' weekend. Grade: A-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Giants started one anyway for Kimani Vidal, 55 picks ahead of schedule. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

That Turner pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Aaron Jones gives the group a proven body among the projects.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

In the end it comes back to Rome Odunze, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
The board had Rome Odunze higher than Round 1, Pick 25, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick39 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Dallas Turner in the 39th overall pick, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin in slot 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick47 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
They paid sticker price for Kris Jenkins in No. 47, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in pick 70. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick108 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaac Guerendo. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick127 Rnd4 Javon Foster
They did well to land Javon Foster in the 127th pick, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140 Rnd5 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick185 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
A wild overpay on Kimani Vidal in No. 185, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
