The Jake Majors selection is the head-turner. The 49ers reached 31 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
