There is reaching, and then there is Xavier Truss at pick 222. The Patriots jumped the board by 72 and dared it to prove them wrong. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Pierce at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
