Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA
Daniels is the plan now, and the Commanders grade out a A-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. However the rest shakes out, Thrash at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

The Jermaine Johnson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In No. 10 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton at pick No. 36 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick40 Rnd2 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
They did well to land Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in pick 40, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72 Rnd3 Cade Stover
A straight-up fair deal on Cade Stover at the 72nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick78 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
A slide stopped in the 78th pick, with Kiran Amegadjie worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick100 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
A tidy bit of business in slot 100, where Bucky Irving graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick111 Rnd4 Cam Hart
The board had Cam Hart higher than Round 4, Pick 11, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick139 Rnd5 Sataoa Laumea
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sataoa Laumea in slot 139. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick152 Rnd5 Jamari Thrash
The board fumbled Jamari Thrash all the way to the 152nd pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jared Wiley
Nice patience on Jared Wiley, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 2. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
