The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bears and Singleton: D-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Jared Wilson in the Round 5 slot.
However the rest shakes out, Singleton at that price is a win they earned. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
