The Bears fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Hudson Card at the 143rd pick is 189 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
Mondon Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The veteran additions, Quinn Meinerz chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
