mhollander21 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Simpson: B. Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Jaylin Simpson, the No. 137 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Every board in the league had Tampa lower, and that gap is the story.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
JC Latham
In slot 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
A reach for T.J. Tampa in the 41st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick58
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
Circle this one: Xavier Legette at pick 58 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
Value with a capital V on Jaylen Wright in Round 3, Pick 25, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick91
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in the 91st pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick126
Rnd4
Javon Foster
Nothing to complain about; Javon Foster went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick169
Rnd5
James Williams
Taking James Williams in pick No. 169 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick202
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
They went early on Drake Nugent in No. 202, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219
Rnd6
Fabien Lovett
Fabien Lovett at the 219th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jaylin Simpson
Steal is underselling it; Jaylin Simpson at Round 7, Pick 25 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255
Rnd7
Steele Chambers
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Steele Chambers in pick No. 255, plain and simple. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
