Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Commanders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Thornton Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Alexander reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
