One of the more intriguing  WR prospects in the 2021 draft, Bateman has good size and build and couples that with good route running and hands.

Rashod Bateman is currently dominating the 2021 NFL draft talk and receiver needer teams better listen up. Bateman, the Minnesota wideout listed at 6’2″ and 210 pounds, just allegedly blazed a sub-4.4 40-yard dash at an Exos combine. That combination of size and speed would be, in a word, elite.

His ability to get off the line of scrimmage and play through contact at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds is second in this WR group to only Ja’Marr Chase, that's why he one of the best WRs outside in all of college football in 2019.

Back in 2019, the last normal season, Bateman put up 1,219 yards and 11 scores, averaging 20.3 yards per catch. The combination of testing numbers and production appears to be there.

The only negative we can see with his game is tends to take his eye off the ball which has led to 19 dropped passes.

He had originally opted out of the 2020 season but then chose to opt back in but only played a few games where he was good (but not as good as in 2019 but that could be for a variety of reasons, including a lengthy layoff). Another player that is being mocked across a number of different spots at the moment - we will split the difference and go for a late first-round grade at the moment.

Minnesota’s website had Bateman listed at 6’2, 210 pounds, which was unfortunate for the player due to his height being significantly less. He weighed in at 190 pounds, but there are reports that state COVID-19 led to 2020 weight loss that may have affected Bateman’s playing weight.
He, therefore, has been downgraded on many draft boards - since he was looked at a height-weight-speed guy
