Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s coordinated with soft, reliable hands, and Griffin shows the ability to adjust to balls thrown behind him, as well as a knack for digging out low throws.
- His competitiveness and knack for high-pointing the ball allow him to play bigger than his size.
- He’s a precise route runner, creating separation when used on quick outs and stop patterns in college. Griffin has good stop-start ability and lateral agility.
- He plays with a smoothness and balance, and he shows a knack for setting up defensive backs.
- Griffin also proved to be a force in catch-and-run situations. A violent runner who transitions upfield quickly after the catch, he has the speed to pick up chunks of yardage once he’s broken the first tackle.
- Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Lacks ideal size and strength and is a ·mallish target with a lean, frail-looking frame. Can be overmatched at the line of scrimmage when physical !le/enders get their hands on him. Struggles in press coverage and was knocked on his back more than a few times.
- Doesn't have the size to consistently win on the outside, but can be productive working the middle of the field and as a return man.
- Griffin doesn’t have the ability as a run blocker or the violent run-after-catch ability.
