Draft Profile: Bio
Lewis Cine went to Trinity Christian School and was coached by Troy William and after an impressive senior year was selected to play in the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game. He was rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports and ESPN and also the #66 overall prospect nationally. As a result, he was heavily recruited and chose Georgia from a long list of suiters. As a freshman, Cine played in all 14 games but only played 201 snaps and finished the season with 20 total stops.
He was handed the starting role as a sophomore and in 10 games was second on the team in tackles with 49 stops, one for lost yardage, and had three pass breakups
In 2021 Cine's play continued to improve and by season's end was tied for the team lead in tackles with 61 total stops, with a team lead with eight pass breakups and played in 82 percent of possible defensive snaps which lead all Bulldog defenders. As a result, he was added to the AP All-SEC 1st Team, the Coaches’ All-SEC 2nd Team, and was a semifinalist for the 2021 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s top defensive back.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Great size-speed combination - Hard-hitting super athletic safety with long arms
- Violent downhill hitter who will terrify receivers over the middle
- A leader on the Georgia defense - directs the coverages and acts as a coach on the field
- Very impressive tackling ability - if he doesn't level a runner he'll wrap up
- Instinctive in the running game - will diagnose the play - quickly blow through the lead blocker and take the ball carrier down
- Tracks and plays the ball well, and has decent hands for the interception. Provides very tight man coverage with playmaking ability in the zone.
- Has good straight-line speed and good balance, fluidity to change direction.
- Reads receivers' routes and anticipates throws at the first down marker. Covers a lot of ground in a hurry when in space. Reads the quarterback's eyes and sees the routes very quickly, then has straight-line speed to arrive with or just after the ball.
- His natural athletic skills will allow him to play in a lot of man-to-man coverage as a box safety at the next level
- Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
- Ran an elite 4.37-second 40-yard dash, had 36.5-inch vertical, and an 11-foot-1 broad jump to showcase his fantastic athletic ability at the Combine
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Inconsistent getting off of blocks. Can be a step slow to react when a quarterback comes back to his side of the field late in progression.
- His overall length and play strength allow him to blow up opposing ball carriers, which means his pad level is often too high, which has led to missed tackles.
- Sometimes out of position in coverage - which probably explains his limited interception numbers at Georgia
- Has tense ankles and hips with choppy footwork when attempting to redirect and doesn't always look natural changing directions.
- Sometimes is a little over-aggressive which leads to missed tackles and penalties. Cine’s most well-known play is his targeting ejection against Florida’s Kyle Pitts
- Has been a bit sloppy in coverage - has averaged a QB rating of 85.9 when targeted over his three years at college
Scouting Report: Summary
Cine is an athletic hard-hitting college safety who will likely be looked at as a box player at the next level. However, he's much more than this and possesses nice deep coverage skills although can be undisciplined at times. We look at him as a solid second-round prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft who will be able to provide nice run support from day one of his pro career. Cine however will likely need a little more time to develop into a complete three-down player at the next level - but when he does he has pro-bowl caliber potential.Lewis Cine percentiles vs other Safetys (NFL Combine historically - higher value represents better perfomance)

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
