Over the first part of the 2020 season Kyle Trask led the SEC in completions, attempts, and passing yards (and was actually ahead of where 2020's #1 pick Joe Burrow was at the same point - though this is not to argue that Trask is the same prospect as Burrow or is even likely go anywhere in the first round - though you can never tell with QBs).
Finished fourth in the Heisman voting.
Trask has great intangibles and has a good knowledge of the game, but he does not have the physical traits that you look for when talking about a franchise QB in the modern NFL - based on his size and stature he is more in the mold of someone like Big Ben (who has certainly had an impressive career) - he could develop into a decent starter in the right system and the right surroundings and if he is not asked to do too much on the fly or picking up yards with his legs.

Strengths

• Good height and growing build to stand in the pocket.
• Average overall accuracy. Too often forces his receivers to adjust their routes, limiting yards after the catch. May have too much confidence in his right arm as he will force the ball into pressure rather than check down and take what the defense gives him.
• Physically imposing and solidly built throughout his frame with good body strength.
• Movement and arm strength were certainly two major components of Trask's game that were ripped into last season. Still, Trask completed passes with an average depth of target of 10.1 yards last year, according to Pro Football Focus - which is one of the highest of all QBs in this year's draft class
• Above-average zip and velocity on his passes with strong stick throws.

Weaknesses

• Has struggled with his decision-making and needs to improve his pre-snap recognition skills to read defenses and see blitzes. Doesn't decipher information as quickly as you would like, but does see the entire field and understands coverage.
• Sails throws to either sideline; receivers make him look good with acrobatic catches. Sometimes trusts his arm too much, trying to stick passes late in the play or when off-balance.
• Not an athlete in any way - just managed to get under 5 seconds in the 40yd dash at his pro-day
• Almost too thick and appears a bit mechanical in some of his movements, including his throwing motion. Although has slimmed down for his pro-day.
• Too often fails to give receivers a chance to make a play after the catch.

Trask has the size, arm, and accuracy to be successful at the pro-level, but we think as a typical big-bodied pro pocket passer with few athletic kills he could go no higher than the late 2nd round with a fall to the third a possibility.
