Draft Profile: Bio
The 6-foot-5, 231-pound signal-caller from Ontario transferred to Indiana for his final collegiate season after four years at Ohio University. At Ohio, Rourke collected MAC Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2022, throwing for 3,256 yards and 25 touchdowns across 11 games before suffering a season-ending injury. His 2022 campaign included a 537-yard, four-touchdown performance against Fordham and multiple 400+ yard outings.During his Ohio tenure, Rourke accumulated 7,651 passing yards and 50 touchdowns through the air, adding 1,240 rushing yards and 11 ground scores across five seasons. His final year with the Bobcats saw him throw for 2,207 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 starts, earning second-team All-MAC recognition. The former three-star recruit developed into a two-time All-MAC performer, following the path of his brother Nathan, who played in both the NFL and CFL.
At Indiana in 2024, Rourke has led the Hoosiers to an undefeated record through mid-October, including victories over UCLA and Northwestern. His standout performance against Nebraska featured a 17-of-21 passing clinic for 189 yards and a touchdown in just one half of play before exiting with a minor thumb injury.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Plus-plus anticipatory thrower who consistently delivers before receivers hit their breaks, showcasing advanced route recognition and timing
- Silky smooth mechanics with consistent footwork and throwing motion, generating velocity through proper weight transfer and hip rotation
- Natural strike thrower in the intermediate game, painting corners and back-shoulders with plus accuracy and touch
- Quiet feet in the pocket with subtle movements to avoid pressure while maintaining throwing base
- Advanced manipulation of second-level defenders with eye discipline and shoulder fakes
- Pro-ready frame with plus bulk to absorb hits and maintain sight lines over rush
- Clean, compact release with little wasted motion, getting ball out quickly under duress
- Natural field general who commands pre-snap adjustments and protection schemes with authority
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Below-average escapability outside structure, lacking dynamic twitch to extend plays when pocket breaks down
- Shows some zip fade on deep boundary throws, particularly when unable to step into throws
- Late to pull trigger against simulated pressures, missing windows against complex zone exchanges
- Age-advanced prospect at 24 years old entering rookie season
- Drops eyes against interior pressure, failing to reset platform when first read is disrupted
Scouting Report: Summary
The 2024 season at Indiana has forced scouts to reevaluate their initial assessments, as Rourke's precise ball placement and command of the offense have translated seamlessly to Power Five competition. His clinical dissection of UCLA and Nebraska defenses showcases a passer ready for NFL concepts and progressions.A natural fit in timing-based passing attacks, Rourke's advanced processing and anticipation skills will translate to systems heavy in play-action and intermediate route combinations. The touch passing and rhythm mechanics stand out, though his ceiling requires scheme protection to mask athletic limitations.
NFL offensive coordinators will value his plus accuracy in the short and intermediate areas, particularly on movement-based concepts. His professional-ready mechanics and proven production against elevated competition point toward immediate backup value with developmental starting upside in rhythm-based systems.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
