Draft Profile: Bio
Korey Foreman from Centennial High School was rated a 5-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 5-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Foreman joined USC after being heavily recruited. In 2021 as a freshman Foreman saw action in 11 games and played a total of 113 snaps for the Trojans. He recorded just 5 tackles, 3 assists, while adding 6 stops. As a pass rusher, he added 11 total pressures, which included 7 QB hurries, 3 QB hits, and one sack on the season.
As a sophomore for the Trojans in 2022 Foreman played in 11 games and took part in 227 snaps for the Trojans. He recorded 13 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 10 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 13 total pressures, and 12 QB hurries, one QB hit, and no sacks during the year.
In 2023 as a junior Foreman played in just 3 games and contributed on 25 snaps. He recorded no tackles, no assists while making no stops. As a pass rusher, he produced 4 total pressures, which included 2 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and no sacks on the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Foreman has the speed to be effective in pursuit, and Foreman shows enough fluid athleticism that he might be able to transition to outside linebacker and hold up in coverage.
- He has violent hands and consistently breaks away and disengages from blockers. He’s instinctive, reading, reacting and locating the ball quickly, and finishing plays as an authoritative, wrap-up tackler.
- He’s a high-effort pass rusher with an impressive combination of length and speed.
- Possesses accurate snap anticipation and timing to beat blockers off the edge.
- Aggressive with good awareness to track the ball and attack. Tenacious, tough, competItIve and versatile.
- His closing burst is outstanding, and he routinely finished plays last year. Foreman has range and toughness as a run defender, capable of dropping anchor to set the edge and showing the acceleration to chase down the backside in pursuit.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- While Foreman moves well laterally, he doesn’t always get there in pursuit.
- Unless he’s able to add more weight and strength to his frame (at the risk of losing speed and athleticism), he’ll lose more often than he’ll win if he gets caught in the phone booth with NFL linemen.
- Never out of a play, but can get out of control and work himself away from the action.
