Strengths

• Flashes explosive pop on contact. Wraps arms securely to make the reliable tackle, but is not technically sound.
• Has recovery speed to get back into plays. Reliable open-field tackler. Adds himself to piles and churns his legs to push back ballcarriers.
• Reads quarterbacks eyes and reacts quickly to targets in zone coverage.
• Tougher between the tackles than many expect. Fluid and quick drop into zone, covers enough ground to be Tampa-2 "MIKE" and knows where the markers are.
• Reads the quarterback to anticipate and is a candidate to play outside.

Weaknesses

• Lacks pop and strength to anchor, though. Most effective when uncovered inside and chasing stretch plays to the sideline.
• Obvious size limitations. Willing to take on blockers but is easily driven out of the play.
• Generally an effective openfield tackler but doesn't wrap up consistently. Shows only average awareness in coverage.
• Slips off too many ballcarriers and needs to complete tackles - will go for the big hit instead of consistently wrapping up.
• Often avoids blocks to survive between the tackles, which gives backs running lanes. He will jump at hesitation routes.
