Keeshawn Silver from Rocky Mount High School was rated a 5-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 5-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Silver joined North Carolina after being heavily recruited.In 2021 as a freshman Silver saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 11 snaps for the Tar Heels. He recorded no tackles, one assist, while adding no stops.
As a sophomore for the Tar Heels in 2022 Silver played in 3 games and took part in 25 snaps for the Tar Heels. He recorded just 3 tackles, no assists, while adding no stops.
After season's end Silver transferred to Kentucky where as a junior for the Wildcats in 2023 Silver played in 11 games and played 265 snaps for the Wildcats. He recorded 12 tackles, 4 assists while making 7 stops. As a pass rusher, he produced 8 total pressures, which included 8 QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks on the year.

- Strong tackler. Has good power in hands and can anchor, shed, and chase.
- Agile run-stopper at end, extends to grab backs from the backside and possesses foot quickness and hustle to chase plays downfield. or to the sideline.
- He’s long but has a powerful lower body and plays with impressive leverage considering his tall frame.
- Flashes an explosive burst and can surprise better overall athletes with his ability to get upfield. Has a closing burst when given a free lane. Has the frame to consider moving inside
- Silver has the strong core and powerful hands to shed blockers, and Silver shows excellent instincts with the ability to quickly locate the ball.
- A savvy, versatile and instinctive edge rusher who did a little bit of everything, he was especially effective getting to the quarterback.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Silver is a bit underpowered, often playing too high and struggling to hold the point of attack against double teams.
- While Silver has violent hands, he uses them too inconsistently. Silver tends to let blockers get into his chest, and he’ll waste time hand fighting due to a limited array of pass rush moves.
- His spin move is a bit slow and mechanical. He’s susceptible to cut blocks, a tactic that was used on him often
