Draft Profile: Bio
Dylan Brooks from Handley High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Brooks joined Auburn after being heavily recruited.

In 2022 as a freshman Brooks saw action in 10 games and played a total of 140 snaps for the Tigers. He recorded just 3 tackles, 3 assists, while adding 2 stops.

After season's end Brooks transferred to Kansas where as a sophomore for the Jayhawks in 2023 Brooks played 7 games and took part in 80 snaps for the Jayhawks. He recorded just 3 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 2 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 4 total pressures, and 4 QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Quick to read run, showing good agility and speed to get past blockers and finish. Experienced in coverage and gets a strong jam on outside receivers.
  • Combines very good instincts with above-average reaction skills. Almost always finds the ball in traffic.
  • Brooks will always try to plow into the largest piles and has a good knack of ending up glued to the ballcarrier.
  • He has quickness in his hands and uses his length effectively.
  • Tougher between the tackles than many expect. Fluid and quick drop into zone, covers enough ground to be Tampa-2 "MIKE" and knows where the markers are.
  • Brooks has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’s perfectly capable of converting speed into power when Brooks gets to the ball, but too often he slips off tackles or turns into a grab-and-drag tackler rather than a hitter, failing to keep his legs driving through the hit.
  • Brooks is on the small side, and his frame is pretty much maxed out. Despite his effort and intensity, he’ll simply get swallowed up at times.
  • Possesses below-average instincts for the linebacker position. Leaves more plays on the field than he makes.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
