- Offers some versatility, rushing from a two-and three-point stance with the playing speed to stand up in space. Flashes strength as a bull rusher and his energy doesn't plateau.
- Johnson shows impressive speed and overall athleticism when moving laterally in pursuit as a run defender.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Johnson doesn't have the elite quickness or flexibility to flatten off the edge against NFL blockers and might have to add bulk to be a 3-4 defense five-technique, or strong-side end in a 4-3.
- He lacks ideal length for an edge rusher, and he’d be on the small side for the interior with a little more room on his frame to add weight
- Johnson needs to do a better job using his hands as a pass rusher, as Johnson too often gets neutralized by longer edge blockers.
