Scouting Report: Strengths
- Picks up crossing routes well from the hash and uses cornerback speed to chase and cut in front of passes when possible.
- Reads receivers' routes and anticipates throws at the first down marker. Covers a lot of ground in a hurry when in space. Reads the quarterback's eyes and sees the routes very quickly, then has straight-line speed to arrive with or just after the ball.
- Can deliver the big hit and isn't afraid to jump inside to slow the ball.
- Good speed in pursuit with the chase skills to track down the ballcarrier.
- Has the physical gifts to match any cornerback in this class, but has rough edges on the field.
- Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Izien also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Plays out of control too often, laying a lot of big hits but also missing a lot of tackles along the way. Izien also needs to do a better job reading routes when sitting back as a single-high safety.
- The majority of the time last season, Izien was able to physically overwhelm opposing receivers early in the down, a scenario that won’t play out as often against NFL receivers.
- Tends to play conservatively and give too much cushion when playing off.

The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
